A space for artists to present sound installations, performances, screenings and exhibitions.
thisisnotashop was started by Aideen Darcy in 2006. Countering the commercial trend of the time, thisisnotashop took over and recycled a small retail shop on an empty street. Jessamyn Fiore joined as partner in 2007, and thisisnotashop evolved into a space for artists to present sound installations, performances, screenings and exhibitions. Openings are regularly attended by a local community of artists who view the space as 'open for business' and 'open to interpretation'. Key to the success of this not-for-profit project space is its open, friendly, transparent and welcoming environment.
