Jerzy Skolimowski directs this haunting and dream-like tale of wandering musician Crossley (Alan Bates), who intrudes on the life of a young composer (John Hurt) and his wife. Having convinced the couple that his voice has the power to kill others, the musician finds himself the subject of the composer's growing obsession.
