6 - 17 May 2009, Upper Gallery

castillo/corrales is a collective of artists, curators and writers - Oscar Tuazon, Thomas Boutoux, Francois Piron, Benjamin Thorel and Boris Gobille - who run an office, exhibition space and bookshop in Paris. As part of Talk Show, castillo/corrales were resident at the ICA for a week, joined by artist Jason Simon. They transferred the working conditions of their Parisian space to the ICA, setting up a context for research and investigation. Inviting guests and gallery visitors to enter into discussion as part of this process, they specifically addressed issues around the economic conditions and working models that can facilitate independent activity and the development of artistic communities.

As a form of research in action they also presented a short play entitled The Interview, written by Thomas Boutoux and Guillaume Leblon. A layered dialogue between an artist and a critic, the play traces the attempt to frame the artist's interests through an interview.
