Boadrum in Conversation

New York, July 7th, 2007, 7pm. Seventy seven drummers amasse beneath Brooklyn bridge to perform the collective piece 77Boadrum under instruction of Boredom’s frontman EYE. Spiraling out from a central unit featuring other members of the Boredoms and Boadrum artistic director Hisham Bharoocha, EYE leads the event using a rack of guitars played as percussion and wielding a staff to conduct the sea of drumkits surrounding.

The following year eighty-eight drummers perform simultaneously in Brooklyn and downtown Los Angeles as 88Boadrum and this year 9Boadrum toured the world, with performances at the Forum in May and at the ATP Festival. Join EYE and Hisham in conversation with ICA Head of Live Programme and Rhythm Section organizer Jamie Eastman to understand a little more about the Boadrum legacy.
