Coinciding with his new exhibition at Vilma Gold gallery and an installation at the South London Gallery in April, seminal video artist and film director Charles Atlas is in conversation with Tate film curator Stuart Comer.
Atlas is a pioneer of media-dance, work that is created directly for film. While Atlas’ primary artistic medium is video and live electronic performance. Atlas discusses his collaborations with Merce Cunningham (1975 to 1981), Michael Clark including Hail the New Puritan and recent 'live' events, such as his 2006 collaboration with Antony & the Johnsons, Turning.
