After her husband’s death, Ginko's life is disturbed by the appearance of her problematic younger brother, Tetsuro, a failed singer who works in a street stall. Having to take over her familly's pharmacy with her mother-in-law and her daughter, her problems only seem to be getting worse by Tetsuro's return and her daugher's failed marriage and soon finds herself on her own. When Tetsuro's gambling and drinking issues go too far, Ginko puts an end to their relationship and breaks off all contact.
