Lis Rhodes: Touring Talks
Join curators and filmmakers on a tour through Lis Rhodes: Dissonance and Disturbance. Inspired by the work in the exhibition, each tour offers a unique perspective on Lis Rhodes’ work in relation to performance, photography, writing and political commentary.
Nicole Yip - Thursday 23 February, 6.30pm
Nicole Yip is an independent curator, researcher and editor based in London. Central to her research are questions surrounding language, power, processes of historiography, collaborative approaches to production, and the relationship between politics and aesthetics. Her recent interview with Lis Rhodes appears in Shadowboxing, Issue 4/5, June 2011.
Tanya Singh - Thursday 15 March, 6.30pm
Tanya Singh works across new writing, performance and moving image, currently as a long term filmmaker-in-residence with Mulberry School for Girls and an Associate Artist with Tamasha Theatre Company. Her films and performances have been shown at the ICA, East End Film Festival, Channel 4, Laban, Southwark Playhouse, Hampstead Theatre, Soho Theatre and Ovalhouse. www.papertiger.org.uk
