INTERCOURSE event programmed for June

Following November's extraordinary event, the ICA announces a new INTERCOURSE programme scheduled for this summer.

"I’m delighted with the huge success of INTERCOURSE - a truly inspired fundraiser that raised £80,000 for the ICA.

On the steps next-door to the ICA, Jane & Louise Wilson recreated the infamous Battleship Potemkin scene helped by a cast that included Fergus & Margot Henderson, Andrew Logan, Alison Myners, Sir Norman Rosenthal, Sue Tilly and Jonny Woo. We had a sensational gala dinner with Tracey Emin producing four large-scale ink drawings later auctioned for £50,000. During the course of the day artists hosted activities such as Mark Wallinger’s and Bob Pain’s horseracing game, eliciting whoops of joy as vintage lead toys passed the finish line. Around the building, Daniel Silver held classes in making clay heads, Carey Kwok styled hair, Hew Locke sold ICA bonds, and Donald Urquhart signed fabulous posters. Other events included Tiffany Zabludowicz interviewing Anj Smith, David Harrison peddling unusual scents, Mustafa Hulusi producing silkscreen prints, Yinka Sonibare selling batik prints, Michael Marriot producing designer items, and a rare audience with Sir Peter Blake.

We’re looking forward to an even more exciting edition this June, so please watch this space!"

- Gregor Muir, Executive Director, ICA.
