At Artists’ Film Club, we screen and discuss new and rarely seen work by artists in the medium of film, in one of the ICA’s two cinemas.. Running since 2008, the season includes up and coming artists as well as more established names in artists film.

Berlin-based Israeli artist Dani Gal’s films investigate social and political tensions, and historical narratives. This screening includes the recent Nacht und Nebel (2011), a 22 minute retelling of political intrigue based on an interview conducted by the artist with a Holocaust survivor. Followed by a Q&A with Gal.

Artists' Film Club: Olaf Breuning

New York-based Swiss artist Olaf Breuning’s Home trilogy is the subject of this screening. Each 30 minute film follows Breuning’s alter ego, played by Brian Kerstetter, as he travels to a range of exotic locations across the globe in a continual state of cultural anxiety.
