Short films from new and emerging film-makers.
Ray Who? "You have a good life! I saw it!" Facing his death one evening, a nameless man sees someone else's life flash in front of his eyes rather than his own. The pinch? The other person's life looks a lot better than his. In a moment of sheer frustration and cat-like curiosity he climbs into the images to find out who's pulling the strings.
The Argument and the Loneliness Left A look at the strength of relationships, refracted through mime and German expressionist film techniques. This film tells the story of two characters struggling with the implosion of their relationship, with beautifully haunting realism. Squeaky shoes provided.
Once Upon A Man Chrystele Mboa's directorial debut tells of a tormented young man and his attempt to escape his dreadful circumstances.
Satisfaction (Zadošcenje) Maja Šest's film is about two young lovers who decide to fulfil the girl's fantasy. Their plan ends in a tragedy, which becomes a new discovery of their intimacy and love.
Vernon Avenue Nine-year-old Tatianna circles her block in search of a puppy, to no avail. Following her interactions with the people and places of her neighbourhood, the film blurs the line between gritty and fantastic.
