21 November 2008

Betting on Shorts is an international short film contest with simultaneous screenings in 13 cities across Europe. You can bet on your favourite short film on the night and if your film wins, you win ICA membership or cinema tickets. This year the theme is Money Money Money, and the films will screen in Athens, Barcelona, Bucharest, Istanbul, London, Maribor, Naples, Novi Sad, Paris, Poznan, Stockholm, Thessaloniki and Wiesbaden. The shorts are judged in each venue by a panel of local curators and after the screening we'll head to the ICA bar and set up an audiolink to all participating venues to find out which film has won in each city and to work out the overall winner. Audience winners will be announced in the bar as soon as all the juries' decisions are in. Join us for music and celebrations in the bar from 8pm till late.

Supported by The London Consortium, Minimatik, nextnode.net and Plaisio. Curated by Ricarda Vidal, Irini Marinaki and Konstantinos Stefanis.

View trailers of the shorts at www.bettingonshorts.com and in the ICA Bar from 15 November.
