British Library/ICA digitisation project
The ICA and British Library is collaborating on digitising a series of sound recordings of talks from the 1980s and 1990s. Please get in touch if you think you might have taken part.
The British Library has digitised 1,600 recordings of talks that took place during the 1980s and 90s at the ICA. In line with its policy of improving access to its collections, the Library intends to make available the recordings for educational use on the Archival Sounds Recordings website. This resource will offer free access for those wishing to study debates around culture, politics, gender issues, artistic practice and literature.
The ICA has granted permission for the use of these recording and the Library is currently clearing rights from individual contributors to the talks. If you took part in these events but have not been contacted by the Library for your permission, please contact the British Library Archival Sounds Recordings project on +44 (0)20 7412 7660 or asr@bl.uk.
