Death Note

25 - 30 Apr, 2 - 8, 10 - 15, 17 - 18 May 2008

This spin-off from a best-selling Manga series is one of the biggest popular hits to emerge from Japan since the original Ring. A must for fantasy fans and Goth-inclined teens, this chiller-thriller breathlessly follows the mayhem that ensues when law student Light is given a special book that can cause a person's death just by writing their name in it. Urged on by the Angel of Death (a memorable CGI creation), Light becomes a serial-killing vigilante and attracts the attention of a mysterious detective mastermind known only as L. Death Note is followed by the equally successful sequel Death Note: The Last Name, which will open at the ICA in the summer.

The 6.15 screening on Friday 25 will be introduced by Paul Gravett, director of the ICA's Comica Festival.

East Asian Cinemas

To celebrate the release of Death Note we've teamed up with IB Tauris to offer one lucky winner the chance to win a copy of the new book East Asian Cinemas - Exploring Transnational Connections on Film by Leon Hunt and Leung Wing-Fai.

Just send your details to competitions@ica.org.uk by 2 May to be in with a chance.
