The small, independent Museum of Everything recently opened in north London to universal praise; its exhibition of outsider art, with work by Henry Darger, George Widener, James Castle and dozens more, attracted 15,000 visitors in one month. Why are we so fascinated by outsider art, and is there something that makes the genre particularly current? James Brett, collector of outsider art and founder of the Museum Of Everything, will be in conversation with David MacLagan, an artist, art therapist and university lecturer whose book Outsider Art: From The Margins To The Marketplace was recently published by Reaktion.
We are pleased to announce the addition of Jarvis Cocker to the panel for this talk.
