Embodiment of Evil

In this final part of the demented trilogy, Coffin Joe is let out of prison and immediately recruits a new group of disciples to help continue his search for a woman who will bear him a son - a literal process of elimination that results in torture and carnage. On one level this all feels pretty silly, but Marins, as both actor and director, conjures up a genuine sense of diabolical dread and maleficent intensity. There's a lot to giggle at, but also plenty of powerful horror imagery.
