It was only a matter of time before the mainstream sounds of Lily Allen, Mika et al were appropriated by the underground to be fired back across the bow of pop culture. Ben Esser is the first artist set to supersize such modernity with his take on personal lyricism set to super cool production, doffing his cap to Mike Skinner, The Knife and Madness along the way.
With a penchant for art (the first t-shirt single in music history?) Esser makes it all seem so very easy to love him. Performing at key festivals this summer and set to hit the chart heights with infectious single Headlock on Transgressive, the ICA is well pleased to play host to another future star.
£8.50 + £1 per ticket booking fee.
