Ex Drummer

Ex Drummer, Dir Koen Mortier, Belgium 2006
Ex Drummer, Dir Koen Mortier, Belgium 2006
9 - 22, 24 - 25 Nov 2007

A brutal Belgian blast of raw punk energy and surprisingly sophisticated film-making style. Three 'handicapped' misfit musicians enlist a semi-famous writer to be drummer in their band, although he's more interested in turning them into a down-and-dirty story than a successful group. Director Mortier brings jet-black humour to this bleak tale, pushing sex and violence to the extreme in a film that brings surprise, danger and nausea back to the cinema.

A Tartan Films release.
