Lingua Comica (3.30pm - 4.30pm)

The language of comics bridges cultures. Comica director Paul Gravett introduces the Lingua Comica comics lab, gathering 14 young creators from Asia and Europe and renowned Japanese expert Kosei Ono who reveals the rich exchanges between manga and comics in the rest of Asia, Europe and beyond

Between Angoulême and Hanoi (4.30pm - 5.30pm)

Mixing reportage and romance, acclaimed French auteur and tutor Gérald Gorridge shares his passion for Vietnam, where he has discovered a fresh generation of comics geniuses.

Indian Comics From Calcutta to Brick Lane (5.30pm - 6.30pm)

Sarnath Banerjee talks about his path to becoming India's premier graphic novelist with Corridor and The Barn Owl's Wondrous Capers from Penguin, and his plans for the ambitious follow-up, Route.

Make Mine Manga (2.30pm - 3.30pm)

Why are creators everywhere so inspired by Japanese comics? Award-winning Paul Duffield, artist on The Tempest from the Manga Shakespeare range, and other contributors to the latest Best New Manga volume join editor Ilya to suggest possible answers.

Comica Collaboratories (4pm - 5pm)

Webcomics wizard Daniel Merlin Goodbrey (Last Sane Cowboy & Other Stories) guides you through experiments in online comics, including cutting-edge blog collaborations by Lingua Comica's participants. 

Manhua: China Comics Now (5.30pm - 6.30pm)

East beats West? Learn why Chinese comics are on the rise, at home and abroad, from China's Yishan Li (Spirit Marked), Hong Kong's Mr Clement (Yeah Kou Phobia) and other artists and guests.

 

How manga is conquering Britain: Comica curator Paul Gravett writes about the new manga invasion in the Times Online.

Comica 07: Enter a World of Your Own

A world of comics comes to the ICA for the London International Comics Festival, including a 24 hour international comic-making marathon, and a scary Halloween special.
