Sinister birds and ill-omened oracles abound.
Has the ICA started an artworld trend in fiendish magpies? Following the installation of Cerith Wyn Evans' Please pay attention motherfucker, a lone stuffed magpie on a branch that haunts the lower concourse (affectionally known around the building as just 'motherfucker'), we notice that Jamie Shovlin's new show at Artsway features a plate called Evil Bastard the Magpie. Lone magpies as harbingers of bad luck and all, but this seems a bit much. Perhaps it's all being orchestrated by the evil magpie queen?
