Rafael Lozano-Hemmer curates a screening of moving-image works that have inspired his work, following his latest interactive shadow-installation Under Scan, in Trafalgar Square.
Recorded live at the ICA on 15 November 2008
Lozano-Hemmer develops large-scale interactive installations in public space, usually deploying new technologies and custom-made physical interfaces. Using robotics, projections, sound, internet and mobile-phone links, sensors and other devices, his installations aim to provide "temporary antimonuments for alien agency". Lozano-Hemmer is an eloquent and enthusiastic speaker and this is one talk that's not to be missed.
