Throwing the doors open to the London public, the Red Bull Music Academy has set up a public taster session here at the ICA with lectures, panel discussions, workshops and live performance from underground scenes around the world. The original gentleman rudeboy David Rodigan will break down his bass-drenched musicology in an extensive lecture session, and Academy 08 graduate GoldieLocks will give us the lowdown on her handcrafted Croydon cuts. Between lectures, you can play on the production workstations set up for the day, with guidance from Tony Nwachukwu, then in the evening session techno maniac Drums of Death and Stones Throw's psych devotee B-boy James Pants will perform live, while J-Wow of kuduro superheroes Buraka Som Sistema and selected Academy participants will be DJing. The overview might make your head spin, but zooming in will reveal a wealth of gems for every music lover!
