Release your ideas

Want to sell your products in the ICA shop? RELEASE1.0, a new design competition could bring you fame and fortune.

The ICA and RELEASE1.0, the culture merchandise award are calling for ideas for innovative new museum shop products. Winners get both a cash incentive and access to some of the most influential cultural institutions and opinion formers worldwide.

Winning products from three different price categories (£2, £15 and £50) will be sold in museum shops worldwide including the Triennale Design Museum in Milan and the Deutsche Guggenheim (and exclusively in the UK by the ICA). The winner will also get product development for a limited edition run from our retail partners and receive revenue share (7%) on all online and offline sales.

An influential jury from the worlds of design, art and culture will sort through all the entries to pick three winning designs, which will be sold in the shops of the competition's international museum and gallery partners. Designers will be paid a revenue share of the product sales and retain full intellectual property rights. More importantly, the competition offers entrants exposure in some of the most prolific cultural institutions.

The jury comprises:

Ambra Medda - Director, Design Miami & Design Fair ArtBasel
Ben Evans - Director, London Design Festival
Benjamin Allder - Art Director, MTV Sticky magazine
Ekow Eshun - Artistic Director, ICA
Thorsten van Elten - Designer
Virginia Bruce - CEO, Real Brand & Business
Frances Raynolds - Acquisitions Board & Patron, Tate Modern

The ICA's participation in RELEASE1.0 is part of our ongoing support for emerging talent and our commitment to showcasing the very best in new ideas.

Go to www.releaseonedotzero.com for full terms and conditions and to submit your entry. Closing date for entries is 20 October 2008. Good luck!
