Summer Solstice Special: Nuts in May + The Wicker Man

Nuts in May, Dir Mike Leigh, UK 1976
Nuts in May, Dir Mike Leigh, UK 1976
21 June 2008

Come and celebrate the longest evening of the year with Solstice Lates: two superb 70s summer movies and a moonlight picnic in the ICA garden. The night starts with a screening of Mike Leigh's gently hilarious Nuts in May, and ends with a late-night screening of Edward Woodward's finest hour, The Wicker Man. In between, there'll be picnicking in the ICA's garden with free drinks, hampers to buy at the ICA (or bring your own), and sounds from The Big Chill. The films finish at 11:30pm, and the ICA bar will be open until 1am.

Please note: the films will screen in ICA Cinema 1, and the picnic will be held in the garden.

To celebrate this special Lates event, Peyton & Bryne are doing a 2 for 1 offer in the ICA Café & Bar on The ICA Grande that evening.  Quote ‘Nuts in May' to take advantage of this.

Specially created for The ICA by Peyton & Bryne to launch their partnership, The ICA Grande is a summer classic with a contemporary twist. The ICA Grande curates Strawberry and basil, muddled and shaken with Chambord and Grand Marnier, grounded with cracked pepper, an aesthetically placed Basil leaf and a healthy dose of conceptual cynicism.  Drink this and all art will make sense.

Also to complement the evening films and picnic, Peyton and Byrne have put togeter bespoke picnic hampers.  Call Box office to reserve yours on 020 7930 3647 or E-mail: icamanager@peytonandbyrne.co.uk

ICA Solstice Lates Hamper: £25 for two (or £35 with wine):
A selection of delectable finger sandwiches,
Organic Crisps,
Spinach & Goats Cheese Muffins,
Mixed Leaf Salad, Cherry Tomatoes & Vinaigrette
and to round off...Eton Mess with Strawberries.
