17 June 2008

We conduct more and more of our relationships with text, thanks to email and text messaging. Free newspapers and blogs add to this tide of written words. What is this doing to the English language?

Discussing this will be Mark Abley, author of The Prodigal Tongue, Jean Aitchison, author of The Word Weavers: Newshounds and Wordsmiths and Simon Biggs, electronic artist and professor at Edinburgh College of Art. The event will be chaired by writer and critic John Sutherland.

£10 / £9 Concessions / £8 ICA Members.
