The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros

Maximo, a 12-year-old boy who's been wearing women's clothes since the death of his mother, strikes up a friendship with a policeman on the streets of Manila. Such personal police protection would be fine if the honest cop wasn't intent on putting the pre-teen transvestite's criminal father and brothers behind bars. A sweet, street-smart debut from director Auraeus Solito.
