Winner of Best UK Feature, Raindance Film Festival 2008
Writer-director Smita Bhide's debut is a story of urban dreams and frustrations with an imaginative spirit that lifts it above everyday reality, unveiling a rarely seen snapshot of daily life in Southall. A young man searches for escape from his overbearing friends and family. He finds it in an affair with the young nurse looking after his cantankerous - but temptingly wealthy - bedridden Auntie Kamla. The Blue Tower is a refreshing departure for British Asian Cinema.
The screening on 23 June will be followed by a Q&A with director Smita Bhide and lead actors Abhin Galeya and Alice O'Connell.
