The Case

Part of the Yunnan New Film Project (a series of 10 films by female directors from Yunnan, China), this festival favourite opens with Da Shang, an inn-keeper finding a suitcase floating in the stream near his guesthouse. He hides the case from his wife and, once he manages to force the lock, the contents trigger a downward spiral of events. Seen in festivals located from Hollywood to the Black Sea, this has yet to receive a UK release. We are proud to bring The Case to British audiences, with a specially recorded introduction from the director.
