Family Vineyards, Swedish Outsiders, Chocolate Monks and a broken organ in harmony with a diseased typewriter: May with The Experiment.
First off we dip into the world of Brighton's Chocolate Monk label with some tracks from the feral tapes and CDRs of Dylan Nyoukis, The Skaters and John Weise. Think voices eating themselves within a warped tape reel, unraveling the knot inside your head.
From there we have some Irish airs as a terra incognita of the soul from the consistently outstanding Loren Mazzacane Connors. Labelmate and sound artist Jed Speare then offers up a fine piece of musique concrete from his recent Soundworks release.
Stockholm's The Skull Defekts bring the R H Y T H M, repetition and energies in sound as indie jazzists Pattern is Movement bring their contrasting colors and flavors into the mix.
Finally we have a fine selection of tracks from Mat Gustafson, Tape and Folk Rabe courtesy of the innovative London based promoters No Signal, who will be presenting a night of Swedish experimentalism featuring these artists at the ICA on May 17th.
Enjoy!
