23 May 2008

£6 / £5 Concessions / £4 ICA Members.

From the bedrooms behind the blackened windows of Kabul, the bullet sprayed walls of Sarajevo and the drowning cities along the Mississippi come the voices of love and loss, of Rania, an asylum seeker, Laila, a prostitute, Dahlia, a writer, and Susan, a spectacle. The War Zone is My Bed premiered in October last year at New York's La MaMa Experimental Theatre, where it was developed by Yasmine Beverly Rana. Scenes from the play have been presented at festivals, conferences and theatres in the US, the Czech Republic and South Africa. Excerpts have been published in journals including the spring 2008 issue of TDR: The Drama Review. This will be the premiere of the solo performance based on the play.
