Described by the LA Times as "a feminist Vertigo", Variety is the sexually charged tale, written by Kathy Acker, of a woman's journey of self discovery after taking a job in a porn cinema. Director Bette Gordon worked with an impressive array of talent: Nan Goldin acts, Tom DiCillo films, Spalding Gray makes obscene phone calls and John Lurie scores.
