auto-italia

Hosting talks, screenings, shoots, and a flexible studio space for projects whilst remaining a free resource.

auto-italia is run by three artists and is in its second temporary site, a large disused car salesroom on the Old Kent Road. This space has been donated for a year, and is used as a gallery, studios and living space. We programme one show a month and for the remainder of the time the space is negotiated between the artists working with auto-italia. We host talks, screenings, shoots, and have flexible studio space for projects whilst remaining a free resource, with no need to fulfil funding criteria or to sell work in order to operate. The first show in this new space - EPIC - was a cross section of 50 artists involved in this critical peer network examining the space as a future context for making work, and as a starting point for new networks.

Nought to Sixty: Artists and Projects

A cumulative lists of all artists and projects involved in Nought to Sixty.

About Nought to Sixty

Nought to Sixty presents sixty projects by emerging artists based in Britain and Ireland over six months from 5 May to 2 November 2008.

Most of the artists in Nought to Sixty are under thirty-five, few of them have had significant commercial exposure, and in most cases this is their first opportunity to mount a solo project in a major public space.

The season is not intended to announce any new generation or style, but to build up a multifaceted portrait of the emerging art scene in the two countries, and to provide a space for exchange.

The Nought to Sixty programme consists of:
