[The] screen starts out black then a man walks slowly towards the camera, shot from the waist down. A voice that seems like a professional actor lends clichéd authority to the spoken text. I feel manipulated. It seems to reference Beckett – with additions. ‘I fail, I fail again.’ A quote from Worstward Ho? It’s familiar, but something seems wrong. Text art performed and written to imitate Beckett: ‘I contextualise. I am contextualised.’ A subtle satire of the canonisation of Beckett? Or utterly sincere homage? I’m confused. The corridor looks like a government building. We end up in an office. The man remains faceless.
