public works is a London-based artist/architects' collective which has been working in different constellations of partners and collaborators since 1999. Projects address the users of public space, developing physical and non-physical forms that allow for a participatory and cross-hierarchical transformation of such spaces. public works runs Friday Sessions, which are informal talks at the public works studio on Friday evenings. Providing an opportunity to present different practices and projects in an informal setting, Friday Sessions are announced via e-mail and on the public works blog. public works has also started a selfpublishing initiative: Publishing Public Works. Its first output consists of a series of fanzines which either accompany specific Friday Sessions or act as a publishing tool for related projects. Current members are artists Kathrin Böhm and Polly Brannan, and architects Andreas Lang and Torange Khonsari.
