The Exiles

Featured in heavily in classic film essay Los Angeles Plays Itself, The Exiles is vivid portrait of a little-seen LA community. Following one night in the lives of a group of young American Indians transplanted from the large Southwest reservations into LA's Bunker Hill district, The Exiles uses a high-energy soundtrack and no-frills black and white photography to bring the audience into the contained but lively world of the disaffected youths.
