Bookhouse Boys + special guests

11 Nov 2008

A crashing nine-piece orchestra of Mariachi brass, duelling drums, surf guitar and girl-boy vocals, The Bookhouse Boys burst forth from the bars and clubs of north London with a pair of 7-inch singles earlier this year. An unruly bar band of artisans, punks and East End rogues, their music is that of violent redemption and salvation, wrapped in the soundscapes of Ennio Morricone and prosecuted with the sinister zeal of Queens Of The Stone Age and the Pixies. It inspires a unifying euphoria, embodied by the bloodied surf rock of Dead, Tonight and new single I Can't Help Myself, the sinister creep of The Valley and Shoot You Down, and the all-embracing, quasi-evangelical Baby I Gotta Go and I Believe.
