California-based artist Peter Shelton discusses his long-established sculptural practice with Martine d’Anglejan-Chatillon. Shelton is internationally recognised for his iron, steel and fibreglass sculptures that often replicate abstracted parts of the human body as well as elements of architecture.

Artist Peter Shelton was born in Troy, Ohio in 1951. He holds an MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles (1979).

Shelton has exhibited internationally in museums and galleries in over fifty-five solo exhibitions and over one hundred and twenty group shows, including recently: La Percezione del futuro - La collezione Panza di Biumo a Perugia., Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria and Palazzo della Penna, Perugia, Italy, (2015); Six Sculptors, L.A. Martine d'Anglejan-Chatillon is a partner of the Thomas Dane Gallery and has been with the gallery since its inception in 2004. She specialises in the production and placing of complex media artworks - such as film and digital media, sculpture and installation. Her earlier career focused on museum development at the National Gallery, London, and the Whitechapel. For many years she also managed large scale cultural projects for the Rothschild Foundation. She is a longstanding friend of Peter Shelton.
