Still: Ali, Fear Eats the Soul

Emily Wardill Q&A + Fear Eats the Soul

27 Jan 2008

Emily Wardill will talk about her new film and the links between melodrama and political discourse with Ian White (adjunct film curator, Whitechapel art gallery), using clips from her own work and from examples of melodrama in modern cinema, including Douglas Sirk's All That Heaven Allows (1955) and RW Fassbinder's Ali, Fear Eats the Soul (1974).

The talk will be followed by a screening of Ali, Fear Eats the Soul, a love story between a German cleaning woman and a young Moroccan immigrant worker which was inspired by Sirk's classic.
