On Landguard Point

23 Aug 201329 Aug 2013

Inspired by the histories and culture of the East of England, On Landguard Point is an exploration of how we construct ideas of home. Made by Pacitti Company, the film stars hundreds of people from across the East of England, and features work by internationally acclaimed artists including Michael Nyman, Kira O’Reilly, Julia Bardsley, Rajni Shah, Dominic Johnson, Harminder Judge, Dicky Eton, Sheila Ghelani, Carla Esperanza Tommasini, Helena Hunter, and Giovanna Maria Casetta.

On Landguard Point exists at an intersection between live performance, community and cinema, weaving together poetry, performance, myth and stories gathered from the region's inhabitants.

Socially engaged and process led, Pacitti Company approaches performance making as investigation through research, blending formal disciplines and techniques with social sciences and personal politic. Convened in 1990 by artist Robert Pacitti, the Company has spent the past two decades making and touring an award winning body of radical live performance works around the world. On Landguard Point is Robert Pacitti’s directorial debut.
