LIFT presents Jarideh: A Secret Encounter by Tania El Khoury

13 Jul 201115 Jul 2011

"Deeply unsettling, ridiculously exciting and right on the cutting edge" The Times

Jarideh (meaning newspaper) is a one-on-one encounter lasting 45 minutes where both visitor and performer become partners in crime. Inspired by crime films and the real life stories of the glamorous female agents of the Lebanese resistance, artist Tania El Khoury creates immersive site-specific performances. Sites have ranged from the Great Hall of the British Museum to an old church in Beirut once used as a military base during the civil war.

Presented in collaboration with LAAF11 – Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival.
