New Year Preview: Lust, Caution

2 Jan 2008

Kick off your cinematic year in style with this special preview of the sensuous, riveting new drama from director Ang Lee and screenwriter James Schamus (Brokeback Mountain, The Ice Storm). Set in Japanese-occupied Shanghai in the early 1940s, the film follows a young female resistance agent (Tang Wei) on a perilously intimate mission to get close to a high-ranking collaborator within the Chinese government (Hong Kong superstar and Wong Kar Wai regular Tony Leung). With its now-notorious sex scenes and gracefully paced action, this is another classy offering from the Lee/Schamus team.
