Originally released in 1973, this is the definitive documentary on the New York art scene from 1940-70. Noted documentary director Emile de Antonio (Point of Order, Millhouse) interviews artists about their work from the period of abstract expressionism, through hard edge and color field painting to pop art. Those featured include Robert Rauschenberg, Willem de Kooning, Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol, Barnett Newman, Hans Hoffman and Robert Motherwell.
