Still: The President's Last Bang

The President's Last Bang

31 May 2008

More than 25 years after the assassination of South Korean president Park Chung-hee, a darkly comic film about that night. In 1979, demonstrations against Park were crushed by the military. The head of his secret service has other concerns: he is fed up with arranging presidential trysts and his liver is failing due to the demands of being Park's drinking buddy. An astonishing work.

Followed by Q&A with director.

Dir Im Sang-soo, South Korea 2005, 102 mins, subtitles
