On Language is an all-day event curated by Bloomberg New Contemporaries artist Lauren Godfrey.
Through a series of performances and screenings, this event will consider the discrepancy between the visual and verbal, the exoticism of language and the complications of talking around art.
Screenings at 12pm entitled A Thing for a Thing brings together artist's films, suggested by fellow Bloomberg New Contemporaries participant Sarah Jones, that explore the idea of one thing standing in for another and forms of language besides words. The screenings include films by Emily Wardill, Nashashibi / Skaer and Philip Warnell.
Performances in the bar at 3pm invites artists to respond to the notion of language and its relationship to articulating the visual.
Performing artists: Khadija Carroll, Anna Barham, Ella McCartney, Siôn Parkinson and Lauren Godfrey.
