Seminar: Lina Bo Bardi: Together

The Italian architect Lina Bo Bardi moved to Brazil, the country she made her home, in 1946 at the age of 31. Her extraordinary legacy as an architect, set designer, editor, illustrator, furniture designer and curator has yet to be fully acknowledged. This seminar is a unique opportunity to learn about Bo Bardi’s work from Brazilian experts in her areas of work, and from the architects who worked with her.

2.15 – 3 pm - Lecture 1: Lina Bo Bardi in the frame of Brazilian Modern Architecture, by Renato Anelli, Architect and Professor of the University of Sao Paulo
3 – 4 pm - Lecture 2: Lina Bo Bardi is Brazilian culture: modern, old and popular, by Marcelo Suzuki, Architect, former associate of Lina Bo Bardi
4 – 4.15 break
4.15 – 5pm - Lecture 3: The Making of SESC Pompéia, by Marcelo Ferraz, Architect, former associate of Lina Bo Bardi
5 – 5.30 pm - Roundtable discussion with the above lecturers joined by Architect Tony Fretton and Observer architecture critic Rowan Moore
