Produced and directed by Joanna Lipper, The Supreme Price is a feature length documentary film that traces the evolution of the pro-democracy movement in Nigeria and efforts to increase the participation of women in leadership roles.

Following the annulment of her father's victory in Nigeria's presidential election and her mother's assassination by agents of the military dictatorship, Hafsat Abiola faces the challenge of transforming a corrupt culture of governance into a democracy capable of serving Nigeria's most marginalized population: women.

The film will be followed by a Q&A with Joanna Lipper, director of The Supreme Price and Lecturer at Harvard University, and Funmi Iyanda, CEO of Ignite Media Nigeria and a partner of Creation Media UK, as well as award-winning TV anchor, broadcaster, producer, and journalist. The discussion will be moderated by Ike Anya, co-founder of the Nigeria Public Health Network and the TEDxEuston events.

The Supreme Price, dir. Joanna Lipper, USA 2014, 75 mins.

The ICA Cinema is now completely ad-free. Please note the feature will start following a selection of trailers and information relevant to the ICA programme. All films are 18+ unless otherwise stated.
